TYPE: Costa Rica. Puntarenas: forests near Palmar Norte de Osa, alt. 100 ft., 6 Nov 1949, epiphytic, sepaline tube rich dark Indian red with the filiform tails ocher yellow, petals pale creamy yellow, lip hevily spotted with maroon, P.H. Allen 5361 (holotype, EAP; isotypes, SEL, detail of isotype, SEL, US; illustration of type).
